About me
Dr Aghil Jafari serves as the Programme Lead for the BEng/MEng in Mechatronics Engineering and holds the position of Senior Lecturer in Robotics at the University of the West of England (UWE). Dr Jafari's academic journey commenced with an MSc in Mechatronics Engineering, which he obtained in 2011 from Amirkabir University in Tehran. His pursuit of knowledge led him to KoreaTech University in Cheonan, where he was awarded a PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2015.
Prior to his current role as a Senior Lecturer in Robotics at UWE, Dr Jafari imparted knowledge as a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, laying a strong foundation for his teaching career. His research ambitiously spans the fields of mechatronics and electro-mechanical systems, with a keen focus on robotics—covering system modelling, stability, and control—and the control of cyber-physical systems, including haptics, teleoperation, and telerobotics.
