About me
Amelia is a member of the University's Research, Business & Innovation Team whose primary role is to foster UWE-industry collaborations (research, skills, teaching), and support our academic community in building their knowledge exchange networks and effective business engagement. Should a company or academic be interested to developing collaborations, feel free to get in touch.
Background:
Prior to starting at UWE in February 2024, and stemming from Amelia's technical expertise as an Electrochemist (MSci and PhD in Chemistry), Amelia has held technical roles in industry and academia as an Engineer/Researcher across multiple disciplines including:
- Solid state battery development for electric vehicles at imec (Belgium)
- Border detection of ilicit substances at the University of Antwerp (Belgium)
- Corrosion and integrity monitoring of offshore electrical distribution equipment at Viper Innovations (UK)
During her time at UA and imec, Amelia developed expertise in Horizon Europe bid writing and Horizon 2020 project coordination, with experience coordinating consortia of > 14 parnters across Europe worth over 8 million EURO.
Area of expertise
Amelia can facitliate collaborations as part of (but not limited to) Innovate UK, Horizon Europe, Skills Development, and has technical networks across electrochemistry (sensing, fuel cells, corrosion, energy storage) and semiconductors (ALD, thin films).
