About me

I am a research active academic who teaches modules on information systems management to undergraduate and postgraduate students of Bristol Business School. Over the last decade I have been responsible for running doctoral programmes in among others a 5* rated research department. While applications and consequences of information systems use into various facets of our lives has been the abiding focus of my research interests yet digital ethnicity within human migration, and intelligent assisted living within healthcare for the ageing population, are two areas that I am currently engaged in. Over the last few years I have been keen to develop a strand of enquiry into ‘Technologies of Freedom’ which has been integrated into both philosophical exploration as well as experiential narratives of social media use by migrants. Use of digital anthropology to interpret migrant experiences is largely the focus of some of my recent research. My research papers have been published in a range of peer reviewed outlets like Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Strategic Change, Journal of Knowledge Management, International Journal of Technology Management. Developing ideas, participating in debates, engaging in conversations that are linked to addressing technological challenges of human life are key facets of my research and teaching activities.
