About me

Before joining UWE, I worked for 12 years as a teacher in Early Years and Primary schools. I specialised in Personal, Social, Health and Emotional education and supported the Local Authority with the development of policies, programmes and materials in relation to this. I have a wealth of experience working with vulnerable groups and people with additional needs, partly through my teaching role but also through volunteer work with the National Autistic Society, Adult Learning Colleges for people with complex needs, a charity offering respite to children suffering abuse or neglect and most recently, the South Gloucestershire Walking for Health scheme.

I joined UWE in August 2018 and am proud to be part of the PAL team, supporting first year students as they settle into university life and begin their studies.

I am also part of the UWE Mentoring Scheme. I have a particular interest in supporting induction for new members of staff, especially if they have not worked in a University environment before. Having been in this position myself recently, I understand the challenges and would be more than happy to mentor anyone in a similar situation. If this sounds like you - please do get in touch!
