About me

I'm a Senior Lecturer teaching on BA (Hons) Media Communications and BA (Hons) Culture, Media and Creative Industries.

My recent work examines the role of freelance labour in regional production centres, and the cultural history of public service broadcasting. I am also currently engaged in projects investigating the place-based nature of creative labour, alongside the experience of neurodivergent talent in the film and television sector. This has included the publication of a short report on workplace accessibility in Bristol.

More information about my research interests and areas of expertise can be found below.

Area of expertise

Regional Screen Industries: I co-founded the European Regonal Screen Industries Research Network, which facilitates cross-national knowledge exchange concerning regional screen production and aims to forge a robust set of methodologies through which to conduct research into regional screen production.

Public Service Broadcasting: My work on public service broadcasting has included the cultural history of the BBC, with a particular focus on arts broadcasting. My more recent work is concerned with the role of public service broadcasters in regional production centres.
