About me
I am an economist by training. My area of specialisation is macroeconomics and finance. In particular I am interested in role of financial market frictions in generating business cyle. I am also interested in Bayesian estimation and use of big data in Economics, especially in general equilibrium modelling.
I also have a new area of research looking at natural capitral and how natural capital resources enters into macroeconomic models.
I have been in higher education for last 15 year working in public and private sector universities. I have worked in universities and higher education institutions in Australia, the Maldives and the UK. I am a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy.
In addition to teaching, I am actively involved in internationalisation of higher education, awarding gap and employability of students.
In addition to my teaching, I am also currently the Associate Director of Economics looking after people and resources with in economics cluster at UWE.
I have also been awarded Vice Chancellor's Early Career Researcher Award for the year 2021-22. My ECR award aims to develop a framework through which natural capital can be integrated into macroeconomic models.
