About me

I have been a clinical midwife for 15 years. I have previously worked as an adjunct professor in the masters in midwifery program at the Midwifery Institute of Philadelphia University (now Thomas Jefferson University) in the United States. I worked as a women's health nurse practitioner with a specialism in midwifery.

I am as passionate about teaching as I am about midwifery. My approach is to empower students in their education to enable them to become autonomous learners.

Area of expertise

I have a particular interest in physiologic birth, normalising birth in high risk contexts, autonomy of birthing people and consent, disparities in health related to racism, workplace culture in the NHS and wellbeing at work. I have worked as a women's health nurse practitioner, so I have an interest in women's sexual health: long acting reversable contraceptives, menopause.
