About me
Dr Beena Manoj is a Lecturer in Human Resources Management at UWE Bristol. Before this role, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Business in Society (CBiS), Coventry University. Her postdoctoral research focuses on the workplace experiences of South Asian women working in the UK within multinational organisations. She investigated the career development prospects available for ethnic minority women (EMW) and their involvement in such opportunities. Her study explored the effectiveness of gender and racial diversity and equality in leadership and management programmes within multinational organisations by studying the work perceptions and experiences of EMW.
Beena completed her PhD in 2022 at Coventry University, and her research topic was Global Talent Management. Her research explored how multinational organisations effectively manage their highly skilled workforce (also known as talents). She evaluated the different talent management strategies implemented within multinational organisations and proposed an innovative hybrid approach for global talent pool management based on primary data collected and an extant literature review.
Beena was also selected as a researcher in the research residency programme introduced by the Doctoral College and the Centre for Research Capability and Development at Coventry University. As a part of the research residency programme, she supported developing a culture change project to enhance researcher well-being, from research students to professors. She was responsible for undertaking research, reviewing university policies and best practices, developing an action plan, and supporting the delivery of the action plan for improving academic well-being.
Beena completed her Bachelor’s in Mathematics, Physics and Statistics and has attained multiple postgraduate qualifications: Masters in Computer Management, Masters in Personnel Management, MPhil in Business Administration and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management. She is an associate member of CIPD, having completed CIPD level 7 advanced certification. She is also an associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). Her industrial experience includes working on HR management and SAP HR with multinational organisations in India and North America.
