About me

I have 28 years of public sector experience in three UK police forces, the College of Policing and a short period in the FCDO. My policing career was predominantly in uniform policing roles including neighbourhood policing, road policing, response policing and the operations room. I also spent periods as a tactical firearms commander, counter-terrorism security officer and public order officer.

Whilst at the College of Policing I led a pilot project exploring the benefits of development secondments outside policing for senior officers and I authored the Professional Placement Toolkit: Insights, Attachments, Secondments and Exchanges (College of Policing, 2018).

As an International Policing Advisor, I travelled to some interesting places and worked with overseas law enforcement agencies to improve specific capabilities on behalf of UK government departments.

I am now enjoying becoming more involved in police education.
