About me
I graduated from UWE with a Bsc (Hons) in Psychology, and returned for my PhD after several years working as an Assistant Psychologist for people with long-term health conditions. My PhD was in rheumatology research and looked at patient activation - how able and willing someone is to take an active role in managing their health.
Since then, I have worked in a mix of long-term condition research and in workforce research. I have carried out projects looking at moral distress in registered nurses, experiences of First Contact Practitioners carrying out remote consultations, and the implementaiton of the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme in Primary Care.
I have interest in a range of research methods, both qualitative and quantitative. I was a Statistical Methodologist working in the Civil Service for two years but I have particular experience in Framework Analysis and Reflexive Thematic Analysis.
I also have interest and experience in patient and public involvement in research and was featured by Versus Arthritis in their Researchers Guide for involving people with Arthritis based on my PhD public involvement.
Area of expertise
Qualitative methods, self-management, workforce research.
