About me
I joined UWE in October 2024 as a Research Associate in Public Involvement and Engagement. My role involves supporting colleagues across the College of Health, Science and Society to engage and involve the public in all aspects of their research.
Prior to joining UWE, I completed my PhD at the University of Bristol in conjunction with Bristol Speech & Language Therapy Research Unit. My research used qualitative and creative methods to explore families' everyday communication environments, in order to inform how speech and language therapists work. I have worked on a number of research projects using qualitative, creative and co-design methods to explore people's everyday lived experiences. I love learning about innovative and novel methods for doing research in ways that are engaging and inclusive.
My academic background is in linguistics, and alongside this role I also teach modules on language development and sociolinguistics to BSc speech & language therapy students at Cardiff Metropolitan University. I love learning languages and have spent periods of time living in Mexico City and Santiago, Chile, making use of my Spanish skills!
