About me
I re-joined UWE in February 2022 as Lecturer in Planning and Development. I am a Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI), experienced lecturer, practitioner and researcher who has worked across the public, private and third sectors, based in the UK.
I have taught at UWE since 2012, when I worked as a Research Associate in the Sustainable Planning and Environments (SPE) Research Centre and as a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Planning. I worked on the SNACC Research project, a multidisciplinary EPSRC funded project, which examined Suburban Neighbourhood Adaptation to Climate Change.
Prior to re-joining UWE, I was Principal Planner in the Major Sites Team at South Gloucestershire Council, where I worked on major schemes dealing with complex super major planning applications and negotiating positive outcomes on behalf of the council. I have also worked as a planning consultant for Savills working on major developments from the private sector perspective. I have held roles across the public, private and third sectors in Forward Planning, Development Management, Planning Enforcement, Conservation and Regeneration.
I am currently a Neighbourhood Plan Examiner and Specialist Advisor with Intelligent Plans and Examinations (IPE Ltd) and have worked closely with Neighbourhood Planning Groups in my role as Neighbourhood Plan Advisor for the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
I have a Masters in Sustainability, Planning and Environmental Policy and a BSc (Hons) and City and Regional Planning both awarded by Cardiff University. I am an accredited project manager and have extensive experience in project and people management.
Area of expertise
