About me

Chris Clare is a Senior Lecturer and critical care nurse in England. After finishing his Masters in Mathematics Chris taught at college while providing voluntary first aid services, and his passion for clinical work encouraged a change in career. Qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 2015 Chris has developed his career in Emergency then Critical Care Nursing, with an ongoing interest in stroke care, expedition and remote nursing. Chris continues to provide safeguarding support for volunteers in St John Ambulance.



Area of expertise

Chris' predominant area of clinical expertise is critical care, supported by emergency and pre-hospital care experiences as both a Registered Nurse and a volunteer. Chris has generated several Continuing Professional Development articles predominantly relating to stroke care in acute and community settings. Practical experiences of adult Safeguarding has provided Chris with a working knowledge of initial Safeguarding duties in practice, supplemented by supporting  and training volunteers in managing their routine Safeguarding responsibilities and expectations. Chris was the lead nurse for Renal Replacement Therapy at a local critical care Trust before transferring to UWE, providing good working knowledge of continous renal replacement therapy.
