About me

I am a Lecturer in International Management at Bristol Business School, where I teach modules primarily on Intercultural Communication, International Business and Research Methods. Before joining UWE I was awarded a PhD in Intercultural Communication by Warwick University and worked as a research fellow for a Horizon 2020 project within the department of Politics and International Studies and a Midlands Innovation project within Warwick Business School. My doctoral thesis was fully funded by the Chancellor's Scholarship and falls into the field of Intercultural Communication investigating the discursive construction of trust in cross-border business partnerships between Turkey and Greece. The data were collected over three fieldtrips in Greece and Turkey and include 56 hours of in-depth semi-structured ethnographic interviews with business partners and audio and video recordings of natural interaction including formal meetings, dinners, visits and everyday talk. The data were analysed from an interactional sociolinguistic perspective. My broader research interests include professional discourse, business communication, interpersonal trust, culture, identity and workplace relationships. Prior to my doctoral studies, I was awarded a Master's degree in Intercultural Communication from the University of the West of England (Distinction) and a bachelor degree in Primary Education (First) from the University of Thessaly.
