About me

I was awarded a PhD in Sociology from the University of Edinburgh. I also hold a BSc in International and European Economic Studies from the Athens University of Economics and Business and a Master of Arts in Social and Political Thought from the University of Warwick. 

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), following the completion of the PGCert tHE at Swansea University.

My main research interests lie in the interrelations among philosophy, sociological theory, social psychology, and organisation studies. I am currently working on a tetralogy of outputs as part of my project to define Immanent Idealism as an alternative approach to social ontology, meta-ontology, and epistemology, drawing critically on the traditions of critical realism, social constructionism, and pragmatism.

This project develops a new idealism in human studies. I am the first to propose a new idealism for social ontology and the theory of social behaviour, in contrast to recent influential tendencies within the traditions of new materialism and practice theories. The ultimate aim of this work is to establish new idealism as an interdisciplinary platform for knowledge exchange across the various fields of social research.

In terms of teaching, here at UWE Bristol, I have been developing and organising the following two modules:

• “Self and Society in Business Management” (postgraduate)
• “Perspectives in Social and Organisational Behaviour” (undergraduate)

I am also teaching on the doctoral training module “Ways of Knowing: Research Methodologies”.
