About me
Senior Lecturer in Building Physics & Services
Co-Programme Leader for Building Services Engineering and Architecture & Environmental Engineering
I co-lead the Building Services Engineering and Architecture & Environmental Engineering degree programmes—both of which achieved a 100% teaching satisfaction score in the 2025 National Student Survey, placing them among the university’s top-rated courses.
My teaching and research focus on architectural acoustics, building physics, construction materials, and sustainable building services design engineering. I bring interdisciplinary experience from roles as a Senior Scientist for the UK Government and a physics teacher, which continues to inform my approach to teaching and curriculum design.
Currently, I serve as Module Leader for Environmental Physics & Materials, Mechanical Services, Glass & Glazing, Façade Materials & Components, Architectural Acoustics and contribute to several other modules across the department.
My research explores both technical and pedagogical dimensions, including architectural and building services acoustics, as well as educational theory. I’m particularly committed to advancing student wellbeing and mental health in higher education.
In 2025, I received the Outstanding Teaching Award for the College of Arts, Technology and Environment at the UWE Bristol Student Experience Awards, recognising my dedication to inclusive, innovative, and impactful education.
Area of expertise
