About me
Dr. Apiri is a Logistics and Supply chain Management professional with with a background in Civil Engineering, and extensive experience in teaching, research and industry. He has industry experiences in highway and building construction, Engineering Project Procurement and Aerodrome Operations management. Dr. Apiri is passionate about teaching, knowledge transfer and sustainable futures.
Dr Apiri currently leads the Strategic Analysis of Technical Operations as well as the Logistics and Supply Chain Management modules of the MSc Engineering Management Course. He also teaches on Project Management in context on the MSc Project Management course, and Engineering practice modules across undergrdauate courses in the School of Engineering.
Prior to joining UWE, Dr. Apiri was a lecturer of Logistics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management at the University of South Wales, where he led and delivered modules such as Sustainable Supply Chain Maagement (at Level 7), Research methods (at level 7), Global Procurement and Sourcing (at Level 6), Strategic procurement and commercial relationships (at Level 6) and, Project Management and Consultancy Skills (at Level 7).
His pervasive research interests cut across Logistics and Transport Management; Sustainable Supply Chain Management; Strategic Procurement; and Construction Project Stakeholder Management in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Some of his current research projects are centred on Logistics (reverse logistics, last mile logistics, election logistics); Circular economy (associated costs of externalities from 2nd hand vehicle exports, solar panel waste); and community stakeholder complexities within highways, buildings and EPC projects in the Niger Delta. His research capabilities and experience include quantitative methods (statistical analysis) and qualitative methods (utilising thematic, discourse and content analysis).
He is enthusiastic about triple helix collaborations for innovation and is interested in partnerships that enhance community development, as well as eco and social justice on a granular scale particularly in the logsitics and transport sectors. He is open to doctoral supervisions across his pervasive research interests.
