Mr Drew Williams-Hicks

My role at UWE is as a Digital Craft technician, running the laser space (OC029) and makerspace (0CO28) in the Bower Ashton campus. These hold a range of laser cutting and engraving machines, 3D printers, and PC suite. I’m here to help with the fabricating side of any project you might have going on

Before working at Bower Ashton I’ve worked as a technician in the Bristol art gallery “Spike Island” (helping fabricate and install artworks), a school (teaching kids to forge metal, and use a laser cutter), on the Frenchay campus as a manufacturing technician (working largely with 3D printing), as well as various production roles at events and festivals. So, as you might guess, I have plenty of experience building the more unusual things that a human's mind might come up with; usually having fun with that process.
