About me

Duncan McPhee is a Senior Lecturer in Law at UWE Bristol. 

Duncan's research interests are primarily focused around police investigations of sexual and domestic violence. He has an established body of published work in this area having received grant support from bodies such as the Leverhulme Trust and the ESRC. He is a regular presenter at national and international conferences, where his work and collaborations on criminal justice case attrition in cases of sexual and domestic violence has been featured. 

Duncan also retains an active interest in criminology, and is passionate about teaching and learning. He has experience of successful PhD (to completion) supervision and welcomes questions and inquiries from prospective PhD students with an interest in policing/social approaches to rape, sexual assault and domestic violence. 

As a Senior Lecturer with more than 10 years experience, Duncan took up the role of Associate Head of Department for criminology in 2020 before moving to the Law school in 2022.
