About me

I'm an Assistant Support Lecturer in Human Resource Management, I joined UWE Bristol as an academic in 2023. My passion for research is rooted in a commitment to address the gender inequalities in employment, driven by a desire to break the systemic barriers that perpetuate workplace inequalities. My research interests focus on women in leadership, equality, diversity and inclusion (ED&I) as well as the impact that flexible working arrangements and non-traditional forms of work have on workplace gender inequalities. Please email me at emilie.culwick@uwe.ac.uk for enquiries.

Area of expertise

Through my work, I seek to contribute to the development of inclusive policies and practices that support the inclusion of all women in the workplace. I am actively involved with the Bristol Women in Business Charter, conducting a research project that emphasises the importance of intersectionality in data reporting for organisations aiming to address the ED&I of all women in the workplace. This important work, funded by the Higher Education Innovation Fund, aims to support charter signatories to enhance their current practices and drive meaningful progress in the workplace.
