About me

I am a qualified teacher, former middle leader and school governor who has worked in schools across inner-city Bristol, England. I am a locally situated scholar-activist. Since 2024, I have worked at UWE Bristol in the School of Education and Childhood as Senior Lecturer in Education.

I lecture on a range of topics around education on: Primary Education (undergraduate) and PGCE (postgraduate) courses. I am module co-lead for Cross Curricular Learning, supervise several undergraduate dissertations as well as being a tutor for ITE students on placement.

Area of expertise

Some of my research interests include education policy and interlocking race and class inequity. My research is situated within the Black Radical Tradition with a firm Black feminist positioning in both an African and global context.

My MA dissertation, based on small-scale research, will explore the divided nature of educational opportunity across the city of Bristol with a focus on spatial segregation using the theoretical lens of Racial Capitalism.
