About me
I am an optometrist, a senior lecturer in optometry, a vision science researcher, and a public health expert in eye care who has a keen interest in visual psychophysics, clinical optometry, community eye health, and refractive errors and their management. I am skilled in epidemiological studies and public health research and have a wide range of experience in the use of eye trackers in investigating eye movements and visual function performance in real-world tasks (driving). With my keen interest in clinical research, I joined the Centre for Health and Clinical Research here at UWE to foster a continuous research career.
Internationally, I hold the prestigious fellowship in optometry, Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), awarded by the American Academy of Optometry, and since my fellowship, I have been involved in several scientific activities of the Academy.
My research skills have also enabled me to serve as a peer reviewer for several top-tier, high-impact, scientific journals, including Scientific Reports, American Journal of Ophthalmology, Clinical Optometry, PLOS One, European Journal of Ophthalmology, Journal of Ophthalmology, BMC Ophthalmology, and Discover Public Health, among others.
