About me

I am a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Science in the School of Applied Sciences. My research interests are in the quantification and impacts of emerging anthropogenic contaminants. I am particually interested in microplastics and their presence across the environment from terresterial to marine systems. This involves using novel extraction methods and a range of  analytical techniques (FTIR and Raman microscopy, and GCMS) to identify and characterise these plastics. I'm also interested in the ecotoxicological impacts of microplastics, particually in combination with other external stressors.
