About me

I am a Research Fellow in the Centre for Floods, Communities & Resilience (CFCR), working on an EPSRC-funded project looking at the multiple potential benefits of adopting a blue-green approach to flood risk management. A distinguishing aspect of this research is a concern for understandings and solutions to be co-constructed with stakeholders and the wider public, so as to ensure that all feel some ownership of the end-product.

I have a background in research around using education and learning as tools of social empowerment, having previously conducted research around young graduates and lifelong learning (University of Surrey)  and young people with learning disabilities' experiences in Further Education (Norah Fry Research Centre, University of Bristol). My previous research project was with the Open Air Laboratories (OPAL) programme, looking at widening public engagement with natural history.
