About me

I hold a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical and Space) and a Master of Arts by Higher Degree Research (HDR) in Political Science. I am currently undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) researching follower-centred leadership and building ethical cultures in human organizations. Prior to my role at UWE, I worked as a mechanical and structural engineer for twelve years. I achieved Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status through the Royal Insitute of Naval Architects (RINA) and the UK Council in 2013. I have been employed by heavy industries including defence, energy and infrastructure, and have worked in multicultural environments in Australia, the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan.

Area of expertise

Having studied both engineering and humanities, I aim to widen perspectives in engineering education regarding political barriers and social sustainability. The environmental degradation at the foundation of anthropogenic climate change is the result of the actions and behaviours of human society. Inequality and injustice are embedded in the social systems that govern the direction of human development and must be surmounted before environmental progress and true sustainable development can be achieved.
