About me
Ian Janes is a Senior Lecturer in Accountancy and teaches Performance Management and Financial Management across a range of programmes.
He is an examiner for a Professional Accountancy body on a Financial Management paper
A dual academic prize winner, he is a fellow of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and the HEA (Higher Education Academy).
Ian has been shortlisted three times for Public Sector Lecturer of the Year by PQ Magazine, and has been shortlisted three times for the UWE Students' Union Outstanding Teaching Award (FBL).
Prior to joining the University, Ian taught at several other institutions. He has practical audit experience from his time at Price Waterhouse Coopers (formerly Coopers and Lybrand) Chartered Accountants.
Ian is a vastly experienced examiner, assessor, marker and question writer for the professional accountancy bodies .
As well as a significant teaching input into the University’s programmes, he has considerable experience of teaching finance to non financial managers.
He has nearly 30 years of teaching experience and has extensive experience of supervising MBA and MSc dissertation students in various Performance and Financial Management matters.
