About me

I have a Doctorate of Engineering (Eng.D) from the University of Strathclyde, in Medical Devices, developing a line of Upper Gastrointestinal Tract measurement devices. My supervisors were Professor Patricia Connolly and Professor Kenneth McColl (Uni. Glasgow)

I graduated from the University of Reading with a BSc in Biomedical Engineering and Cybernetics. Following graduation I developed implantable animal tracking devices as a research assistant with Professor Kevin Warwick.

I was a researcher on the PhyChip project investigating slime mould computing and electronics at UWE as part of a three year collaborative project with several European universities.

I was then a Leverhulme Trust post-doctoral researcher developing bio-inspired object manipulation devices inspired by the cilia of Paramecium caudatum.

I welcome internal and external collaboration opportunities, particularly in fields of medical devices and biology-electronic interface.

I moved to the Health Technology Hub developing novel healthcare and aiding relevant local companies with research and development projects.

I am now a Senior lecturer in the department of Engineering, Design and Mathematics, teaching a variety of electronics subjects.

I am also Programme leader for BEng Robotics within the School of Engineering at UWE.

I also have academic interests in Electronics, Engineering Education, 3D Printing and Bio-inspiration as well as Football, Cricket, Rugby, Target shooting, Fishing.
