About me
Jane is dual qualified as a Chartered Health Psychologist (registered HCPC) and a Public Health Specialist (Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health). She leads work on sexual health and gender based violence with a focus on hearing marginalised communities.
She is the Researcher in Residence at SARSAS (Somerset and Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Support)
She is an active member of the Psychological Sciences Research Group. PSRG
She teaches on both the Masters and Professional Doctorates in Health Psychology, supervising a number of doctoral students.
Her research spans disciplines including work around marginalised groups in sexual health and sexual violence on which she published her book #MeToo for Women and Men (follow link).
Her co-production work with young survivors of sexual abuse and male sex workers has twice won the BMA MEDFASH prize.
She also works on evidence building (systematic review), evidence into practice, health behaviour change and psychologically informed prevention work including organisational prevention of sexual harassment/abuse.
She acts as a national expert around Violence Agasint Womena and Girls policy and practice with YUNO sexual health, SARSAS and the Greenhouse and nationally BASHH (British Association of Sexual Health and HIV), IFAS (Institute for Addressing Strangulation) and the Cabinet Office VAWG team.
