About me

I have extensive experience teaching and leading early years and primary age education in the UK and abroad. I currently teach on the Early Childhood degree and the International PGCE.

My Masters degree research dissertation examined the dynamic of the home-school relationship for parents, with a particular focus on the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities. My research involved exploring factors such as class, health, poverty and family resources and a critical discussion of societal and cultural norms and expectations in school.

I have undertaken research projects into the development of mathematical language in the early years and have contributed to enhancement of practice for school transition.

My interests include how children explore and make sense of their world through play in all environments including nature and in the development of executive functioning skills in children and young adults.
