About me
I am a Senior Lecturer in HRM and a member of the Human Resources, Work and Employment (HRWE) Research Group. I received my PhD in Policy Development and Management from the University of Manchester. Prior to moving to the UK, I gained industry experience with Celestica in China. At UWE, I teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in areas including Global People Management, People Analytics, Applied Business Project, and Research Methods. I currently serve as Module Leader for MSc Research in HRM and Evidence-based HR.
Area of expertise
My research focuses on newcomer adaptation, creativity and innovation, career transitions, employee engagement, and cross-cultural management. I have collaborated with international scholars across New Zealand, Australia, and China. My research has been published in high-quality HRM journals. I also act as an ad hoc reviewer for several leading management and HRM journals.
Key projects and activities include:
- Funded research projects: Recipient of Early Career Research Funding, leading to the successful delivery of two major studies and the publication of two journal articles (3* ABS) with international collaborators.
- Consultancy projects: Co-Investigator on funded consultancy projects with UWE colleagues, including work for the Unite Women’s Committee and Avon Rubber.
- Pedagogical projects: Lead of the UWE-wide Enhancing International Student Onboarding (EISO) project in collaboration with the Student Voice and Academic Policy team and International Student Campus Experience. Findings have informed practice across all three colleges and international student support teams to optimise the international student onboarding experience.
Currently, I am exploring the cognitive, relational and identity-based challenges newcomers face as they navigate and innovate during complex role transition. If you are interested, I would be happy to discuss ideas and potential collaborations.
