About me
I am passionate about languages and have had several roles across the primary, secondary, and higher education sectors teaching and promoting languages.
I started my career as a secondary Modern Foreign Languages teacher (French, Spanish and German) and progressed to being Head of Department and Second in Faculty.
I have recently developped a teaching toolkit for primary teachers in Wales, in conjunction with Cardiff University and Routes into Languages Wales, to embed and support the teaching of International Languages in the primary sector and increase teachers' confidence.
As well as promoting Modern Foreign Languages I enjoy learning new skills; I am a mental health first aider and have recently undertaken a counselling course with Bridgend College.
I have experience of mentoring trainee and early career teachers and am a Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education and lead Modern Foreign Languages in primary and secondary phases across UG and PG routes. I am also the Programme Lead for the School Based PGCE.
