About me
I am a Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security at UWE. I joined UWE in January 2020. Prior to my appointment, I worked in the telecommunications industry for over 23 years, holding roles as a software developer, product specialist and management leader in real-time, high-availability, fault-tolerant embedded systems deployed within Critical National Infrastructure telecoms networks.
I obtained both my M.Sc. in Cyber Security (with Distinction) and a B.Sc. in Computing for Real-time Systems from the University of the West of England. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Federated Learning: An Analysis into the Balance of Machine Learning and Security.
My primary research interests are in Federated Learning, with a keen interest in container security and the detection of threats to IoT devices in a home network environment using machine learning.
