About me
I have taught Art Eucation, Education and Art & Design at Foundation and undergraduate level since the start of my career and I have led Foundation Art & Design; Fine Art and Education degree programmes for several institutions. I was, for several years, an External Examiner and Advisor for the ABC Diploma in Foundation Studies for Art & Design. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and currently the Programme Leader for the Integrated Foundation in Art & Design and Education in Professional Practice at UWE.
Area of expertise
I have acquired a range of skills over the years. My first degree was in Fine Art where my subjects were Sculpture and Printmaking. My Master's degree is also in Fine Art, though by this time I was working more as a painter and photographer. Through teaching Art and Design I became interested in the process of Teaching and Learning itself and this, in turn, led to me becoming involved in Education programmes. My current creative practice involves music, sound, performance, photography and moving image work. Linking these is the pursuit of, sometimes elusive, ideas about the phenomenological and cultural traces we leave in the world. I am also interested in art practice as research. Indeed, all of these things seem to be linked in ways that I am trying to understand.
