About me
I am a senior lecturer in Aerospace Engineering at School of Engineering.
Area of expertise
Dr Jun Yao’s research explores complex industrial flow using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The research areas cover multiphase phase flow particle tracking, two-phase pipe flow transient and heat transfer in heat exchanger, thermal efficiency in room and building environment, gas turbine heat transfer and turbine blade cooling, etc. Dr Jun Yao has gained a broad research experience for renewable and sustainable energy study relevant to heat pump, turbomachinary, gas phase hydrogen combustion and fuel cell. Dr Yao's research has generated an impact case study attended for Research Excellent Framework 2021 (REF2021) Assessment.
Dr Yao research interested has extended to wind energy study and multiphase flow laser cladding study for manufacture process. Dr Yao is a fellow of High Education Academy (FHEA).
