About me

I was born in Bristol in 1991 and have continued to live here all my life. In 2013 I graduated from Glamorgan Univiersity before starting a PGCE at UWE.

I enjoyed 5 years as a primary school teacher before turning to lecturing at UWE.  Currently, I am the Programme lead for UG1 and 2 for BA Hons Primary Education (QTS).

In 2023, I created 'Raise the Bar' which is an outreach event where students from local 6th forms, colleges and schools attend UWE for the day. The event consists of talks form motivational speakers and bespoke workshops. The aim of the event is to address barriers Black and Brown students face en-route to sucess.

Area of expertise

I am current an EDI lead for primary education with my main role being outreach and the recruitment of Black and minoritised students.

I successfully planned and delivered 'Raise the Bar 2024' where 150 students from local schools and colleges attended UWE to engage in Bespoke workshops. The aim of the workshops were to discuss barriers Black and Brown students face transitioning into Higher Education.

I am looking forward to Raise the Bar 2025 where we hope to have 300 students attending.
