About me
I am a Senior Nurse Lecturer in the School of Health and Social Wellbeing at UWE Bristol. I qualified as an adult nurse in 2008 and joined UWE Bristol in 2015. I am currently studying for a PhD in informal caregiving in non-malignant respiratory disease at the end of life. Other research interests are the biopsychosocial consequences of cancer and creative arts in nurse education. My clinical background is community nursing and care of those with long-term conditions and I bring this knowledge and experience to my teaching and research activities. I am module leader for Clinical Leadership and Professional Development in Cancer Care, Evidence and Research in Practice, Health and Social Care Research Methods and Methodologies, End of Life Care and link module leader for our hospice partners. I am passionate about increasing public and professional engagement with death and dying and co-lead the Death and Dying Collective - a network to support research, teaching and public engagement with death and dying. I am a member of the Supportive, Palliative and End of Life Care research theme (SPACE) within the Centre of Health and Clinical Research.
