About me

I am a Senior Nurse Lecturer in the School of Health and Social Wellbeing at UWE Bristol. I qualified as an adult nurse in 2008 and joined UWE Bristol in 2015. I am currently studying for a PhD in informal caregiving in non-malignant respiratory disease at the end of life. Other research interests are the biopsychosocial consequences of cancer and creative arts in nurse education.  My clinical background is community nursing and care of those with long-term conditions and I bring this knowledge and experience to my teaching and research activities. I am module leader for Community Specialist Practice, Health and Social Care Research Methods and Methodologies, End of Life Care and link module leader for our hospice partners. I am passionate about increasing public and professional engagement with death and dying and organise annual Dying Matters awareness events at the university.
