About me
Laura is a Senior Research Fellow in the Science Communication Unit, developing communication, engagement and research projects within the College of Health, Science and Society and the College of Arts, Technology and Environment.
Area of expertise
Laura holds an MSci in Geology and PhD in Environmental Science. With extensive experience of science communication, outreach and informal learning for underserved audiences, Laura has worked on a wide range of projects, including on communicating environmental science, arts-based approaches to understanding science and engaging children with science using computer games, including Science Hunters, a successful programme of projects using Minecraft to engage children with environmental science and engineering. Current projects include Engineering for Sustainable Societies, exploring engineering and the Sustainable Development Goals through Minecraft with support from a Royal Academy of Engineering Ingenious Award.
