About me
Since joining UWE in 2018 as an alumnus of the Business Team Entrepreneurship programme, I’ve held various roles across professional services and worked as an Associate Lecturer in Entrepreneurship. In early 2023, I completed the Institute of Leadership and Management Level 7 programme in Executive Coaching and Mentoring at UWE.
In my current role as Student Enterprise Manager, I lead the delivery of impactful enterprise and entrepreneurship education. This includes specialist advice & coaching, business development programmes, funding initiatives, events, physical and digital enterprise spaces, college-specific interventions, teaching, and ecosystem building.
I believe that entrepreneurship & enterprise education, delivered with an empathetic and intuitive coaching approach, can empower students to overcome barriers, build a ‘can-do’ confidence and develop the mindset and foundational competences needed to start a business or social enterprise.
I’m passionate about making entrepreneurship accessible to all students, which inspired me to create Student Ventures Spark in 2021 to support those at the idea stage. This intervention provides small amounts of start-up capital, personalised coaching, and constructive feedback, and has since supported almost 100 student businesses.
As a UWE student, I founded a loose-leaf tea company, trading at markets, fairs, and festivals; selling wholesale to shops and cafés; running a week-long pop-up shop in The Galleries Shopping Centre; and even being featured in The Guardian. Supported by UWE student Enterprise through coaching, mentorship, an Enterprise Summer Scholarship, a pop-up shop, and winning the UWE Dragons’ Den Challenge (now the Venture Ready Award), I experienced firsthand the transformative impact of the Student Enterprise Team.
Outside of work, I train and compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), currently holding a purple belt at a Bristol academy. What I enjoy most about BJJ is the clarity of purpose it brings me while learning techniques and sparring. When I’m not on the Jiu Jitsu mats, I enjoy cooking, camping and hiking.
