About me

I am an applied mathematician with research interests lying broadly in the application of mathematical modelling techniques and scientific computation to problems in the biological, medical, physical and engineering sciences. In particular, my research spans the parallel themes of Mathematical Pharmacology, Signal Transduction Dynamics, Modelling in the Biosciences, and Fluid Dynamics & Heat Transfer. Much of my work involves collaboration with experimentalists.

I received my PhD from the University of British Columbia, followed by research positions at the Universities of Nottingham, Bristol and Manchester, a teaching post at the University of Bath, and a lectureship at Swansea University. I joined UWE as a Lecturer in Mathematics in September 2017.

My current focus is on developing receptor theory in Mathematical Pharmacology. This work is supported by active collaborations with researchers at a number of industrial and academic institutions, including GlaxoSmithKline, Pharmechanics, and the Universities of Birmingham, Cambridge, Nottingham and Leiden.
