About me

I am a conversation analyst, and qualitative researcher in psychology, with a particular interest in healthcare interactions. I completed my PhD at Plymouth University, examining how multidisciplinary teams in the NHS collaborate in Intellectual (Learning) Disability Services and manage risk. Post-doc, I moved to the University of Oxford to work on a number of projects examining doctor-patient interactions when risk related to sensitive topics (e.g. living with obesity) is raised. I work with a number of collaborators and stakeholders across different institutions, investigating different areas of risk communication, the practice of research and I am passionate about patient and public engagement and involvement.

I am pleased to be starting as a Lecturer in Psychology at UWE so that I can involve students with research, integrate research into teaching and be part of a great team. I am a member of the Psychological Sciences Research Group PSRG
