About me
With several years of experience spanning both industry and academia, I am a highly motivated computer scientist with expertise in Information and Communication Systems Security, Secure Application Development, and Software Engineering.
Currently, I hold the esteemed position of Senior Lecturer at UWE Bristol. Prior to this, my career path included various roles such as Lecturer in Cybersecurity at University Centre Leeds, Assistant Professor at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University in Islamabad, and Lecturer at COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan. In these roles, I have consistently demonstrated a dedication to fostering knowledge and skills in computer science students by teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, designing engaging learning materials for both online and in-person settings, supervising student-related activities, and actively participating in curriculum development and program accreditation initiatives.
My academic background reflects a strong foundation in computer science. I hold a Ph.D. in Software Engineering from Tsinghua University, as well as a Master's degree from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.
My research interests include, but are not limited to, Information and Communication Systems Security, IoT Security, Public Key Cryptography, Cryptanalysis, Post-Quantum Cryptography, and Source Code Cloning. Furthermore, I actively contribute to the development of future generations of researchers by supervising and co-supervising R&D projects for students. My expertise is also recognized through my role as a reviewer for prestigious journals and conferences.
Beyond my current position, my professional journey encompasses a diverse range of experiences in academia and industry. I am an active member of IEEE (Young Professionals & Communications Society) and the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR). Additionally, I consistently review for journals and conferences, driven by a passion for knowledge sharing. This passion is reflected in my development and delivery of training courses on cybersecurity, IT security, and programming. I have also presented lectures on emerging cybersecurity topics and led participation in program accreditation initiatives.
