About me

After completing a BSc(Hons) Psychology and an MSc Computer Science at the University of Bristol, I worked as a software developer in commercial and public sectors on a wide variety of applications. I completed a PhD at UWE in 2012 entitled 3D Face Recognition Using Photometric Stereo and now work as an Associate Professor in the Centre for Machine Vision on a wide range of projects, mainly in agri-tech.

Area of expertise

2D and 3D Face Recognition and the application of human idiosyncracies. Photometric stereo 2.5D acquisition hardware using near infrared lighting. Reflectance mapping and bi-directional reflectence functions. Application of 3D modelling to livestock analysis. Long range photometric stereo. Machine learning and machine vision applied to a range of agri-tech areas
