About me
I obtained both my undergrad and doctoral degrees from Queen's University Belfast and have previously held lectureships at the University of Reading and Oxford Brookes University. I am a member of Bileta SCL and the BCS as well as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Area of expertise
Martina Gillen's current research focuses on Intellectual Property and IT Law and builds on a Ph.D that focused on ideas of community/customary law being developed into practical means of regulating online environments. She is particularly interested in Computer Misuse and the impact of Intellectual Property on software use and development. Current research topics include the legal framework underpinning national cybersecurity and key infrastrucutre resilience in the context of cyber-conflict.
