About me
Mary Cramp is Associate Head of Department, Research Innovation and Knowledge Exchange for the Department of Allied Health Professions and Associate Professor for Long Term Conditions. She is a HCPC registered physiotherapist with interests in movement science, exercise, and neurological rehabilitation. In her current role, she is involved in the provision of biomechanical gait analysis as part of clinical services in UWE Bristol Human Analysis Laboratory. Current research projects focus on interventions to improve motor function of children with cerebral palsy, stroke rehabilitation and gait rehabilitation in long term conditions. She is a co-investigator for FREEHAB (https://therighttrousers.com/), funded by EPSRC.
She is currently the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions Lead, for NIHR Applied Research Collaboration West (https://arc-w.nihr.ac.uk/) and is happy to be contacted for advice about research development and funding opportunities.
Area of expertise
Her research interests centre around the biomechanical
and physiological basis of movement and movement dysfunction focusing
on long term conditions and neurological rehabilitation. She supervises
postgraduate research degree students undertaking work with adults and children
living with neurological and musculoskeletal problems.
