About me
Mike is a Community Psychologist with over 30 years of experience in researching and working within voluntary and statutory health and social care settings. He has a strong theoretical interest in early Pragmatism (circa 1900s) and Community Psychology, focusing on how their social and systems change principles and participatory research methods can be applied to enhance our understanding of, and improve, community-based and other forms of health and social care interventions.
Area of expertise
Mike teaches and employs innovative mixed methods approaches to review and understand the lived experiences of support services. He has successfully overseen commissioned and student-led reviews in diverse areas such as dementia pathways, Disabled people, homelessness, and community psychiatric services. Mike is a staunch advocate for individuals disempowered by the health and social care system, championing support mechanisms that authentically place the person at the centre of health and social care provision.
