About me

I am a senior lecturer in Business Education,  and made the decision to move from Belfast to the University of the West of England (UWE) in order to pursue my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). Throughout a period of 20 years, I has actively participated in teaching business and economics in the south west region, taking on leadership roles as both a curriculum leader and head of department. My experience includes overseeing careers development in schools, with a specific focus on promoting inclusivity and increasing participation. My passion lies in advocating for the importance of financial education, which I strongly believes should be accessible to every student. Additionally, I have developed comprehensive schemes of work to support the learning journey of students ranging from Year 7 to Year 13.

With the ongoing popularity of Business and Economics as subjects chosen by students, with higher numbers of entries compared to subjects like Physics,  Geography, and English Literature at the A-level stage, it is crucial that we ensure schools have well-prepared educators who can effectively navigate the constantly changing business landscape.
