About me
My research interests are related to encouraging long-term exercise and self-management for people with chronic joint pain and osteoarthritis. In particular developing innovative models of care involving healthcare professionals and community based support workers (e.g. leisure centres). I am also interested in evolving professional roles, in particular how contemporary physiotherapy practice can facilitate better management of musculoskeletal conditions. My current role spans the University and CCG, where I facilitate the process of evidence informed commissioning, and research that is informed by clinically importnat questions.
I am currently Chief Investigator of the FRONTIER project, a large research study funded by NIHR investigating First Contact Physiotherapy in Primary Care.
My research is funded by NIHR HS&DR; NIHR RfPB; Versus Arthritis; and the Physotherapy Research Foundation. I currently supervise 5 PhD students, and lead an M-level Knowledge Mobilisation Model.
