About me

As a technical instructor I'm here to assist with practical computer science and programming skills, both by supporting in-class teaching and supporting students and academics with projects. I'm also available to help support hardware and systems used in teaching.

Although my background is in Electronic and Communications Engineering I have a range of programming experience and am comfortable with C, Python, MATLAB, various web development languages and frameworks (HTML, CSS, JS, React, Flask), server administration (Linux, bash), networking, SQL/No-SQL databases (MySQL & MongoDB), hardware (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, microbit), general development (git), and am always looking to expand my skillset.

When not programming I can normally be found halfway up a mountain, and am also involved in Scouting in Bristol—both directly working with young people and as a volunteer manager for a team of adults who deliver Explorer Scouting (14 - 18 years) in the North West of the city (and we're always looking for more volunteers!).
