Dr Raphael Jumbo is a lecturer in Engineering Management, School of Engineering, University of the West of England, Bristol, United Kingdom. He is an expert in environmental engineering and management, engineering projects management, bioenergy optimisation and management, bioengineering and low carbon remediation engineering and management, contaminant monitoring and management, water and wastewater engineering, and environmental management. He is a researcher, lecturer, and projects manager with industrial and academic experience. He has sustained record of accomplishment of excellence in research, teaching and learning, project and engineering management, and provision of exceptional learning experience to students. He has expertise in curriculum development, continuing professional development courses, student management, and leadership.

Dr Raphael is an experienced environmental engineer and a soil and water engineer. He is a specialist in sustainable environment remediation and management targeting the achievements of NetZero carbon strategies. He has been involved in several contaminant monitoring and remediation projects. He strive towards continual growing records to shaping and influencing change around national and international sustainable remediation strategies for wetlands, soils, sludges, and sediments using sustainable nature-based solutions strategies alongside combining my skillset as an educator, scientist, and engineer to effectively contribute to knowledge in my subject area.

Prior to joining UWE Bristol, Dr Raphael was a Lecturer at Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, and later a Researcher at Cranfield University, Cranfield, England. His research interests include soils and wetlands remediation and management, water and wastewater engineering and management, bioengineering and sustainable green engineering, contaminants monitoring and management, soil-structure interaction, greenhouse gas monitoring and sustainable NetZero strategies, and interdisciplinary research aimed at addressing key environmental challenges faced by the environment, engineering and engineering management industries.

Dr Raphael has published several scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, book chapters, and strive for academic, industrial, local, and international collaborations. He is a certified engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and a member of The Nigerian Society of Engineers, and The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, UK.   With concerns about the environment and global climatic crisis, his focus is on solving problems that are of fundamental importance to industry and society. He is currently accepting PhD students across a wide range of engineering management, environmental management and engineering, sustainable contaminants monitoring, water and wastewater engineering and management, bioenergy, bioengineering and sustainable green technology application aiming to provide sustainable engineering solutions.
