About me
Dr Raphael Jumbo is a lecturer in Engineering Management, School of Engineering, University of the West of England, Bristol, United Kingdom. He is a chartered engineer and an expert in environmental engineering and management, engineering projects management, bioenergy optimisation and management, bioengineering and low carbon remediation engineering and management, contaminant monitoring and management, water and wastewater engineering, and environmental management. He is a researcher, lecturer, and projects manager with industrial and academic experience. He has sustained record of accomplishment of excellence in research, teaching and learning, project and engineering management, and provision of exceptional learning experience to students. He has expertise in curriculum development, continuing professional development courses, student management, and leadership.
Prior to joining UWE Bristol, Dr Raphael was a Lecturer at Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, and later a Researcher at Cranfield University, Cranfield, England. His research interests include soils and wetlands remediation and management, water and wastewater engineering and management, bioengineering and sustainable green engineering, contaminants monitoring and management, soil-structure interaction, greenhouse gas monitoring and sustainable NetZero strategies, and interdisciplinary research aimed at addressing key environmental challenges faced by the environment, engineering and engineering management industries.
Dr Raphael has published several scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, book chapters, and strive for academic, industrial, local, and international collaborations. He is a certified engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), a chartered engineer with the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, UK and a member of The Nigerian Society of Engineers. With concerns about the environment and global climatic crisis, his focus is on solving problems that are of fundamental importance to industry and society. He is currently accepting PhD students across a wide range of engineering management, environmental management and engineering, sustainable contaminants monitoring, water and wastewater engineering and management, bioenergy, bioengineering and sustainable green technology application aiming to provide sustainable engineering solutions.
