About me

Having worked in Nursing and Midwifery for 30 years I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Midwifery and Programme Leader for the post-registration programme, BSc (Hons) Specialist Practice and BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care Studies.

I teach on a number of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Midwifery and cross programme modules in Nursing & Midwifery.  I am the Practice Associate Lecturer in Midwifery for Cossham birthing unit and North Bristol Trust.

I have a number of research interests in perinatal mental health,  and fatherhood and Masculinities. My PhD research focused on  men's expereiences of preganancy, birth and the postnatal period. Currently I am a theme lead of the Bristol Health Partners Health Intergration Team (HIT) for Perinatal Mental Health, with a particular interest in education and training for healthcare practitioners. I am also module leader for a CPD module for Perinatal Mental Health for Health and Social Care practitioners.
